If you are the owner or a partner of an Italian SME, in this blog you’ll find some life-tested advice to help you grow together with your team.
Do you find it difficult to embrace or adapt to change?
There’s only one answer:
Let’s do training.
Those who have taken a lot of training courses and/or read plenty of books on personal growth, NLP, Team Working, Coaching, etc., can confirm what is expressed so simply in this quote that struck me deeply:
“The door to change opens only from the inside.”
— Tom Peters —
So?
So, there’s no universal rule, because everyone is different. But a company would not exist without the people who live and breathe it every day.
Just take a look at a few LinkedIn posts or at the titles of current events: the message is clear — there is no future for companies that don’t take on a social role in improving the lives of their employees.
“Dear entrepreneur, take care of the people around you,
because your success depends on theirs.”
It’s no coincidence that more and more entrepreneurs are struggling to find good new resources.
How can we lay the groundwork for a strong and attractive team?
Let’s do training.
Being a source of inspiration for the people around you is a great way to express your leadership and to awaken talents.
How can you tell if you have leadership skills? It’s quite simple — just see if you have followers.
Are there people who follow you naturally (in real life or on social media) and are inspired by you and your way of working?
(This is very different from having a bunch of “yes men” around you just because you pay their salary and they’re eager for a promotion.)
“You start growing old when you stop learning.”
— African proverb —
Why am I talking about changing the way we do training?
Because it means adding an innovative element to every growth journey.
We’re trying to do that.
As trainers, especially in inter-company courses on internal communication and team building, we prepare a final report at the end of the course highlighting the critical points and areas for improvement that naturally emerge — as reported by the participants.
This is an important document that is delivered to the company’s Board of Directors. It’s useful because it:
- Becomes part of the company’s history;
- Certifies and supports its paths of growth and change.
…and the clients’ feedback has been extremely positive!
It may not be a big revolution, but it’s definitely something new.
It’s true that some excellent trainers can touch everyone’s hearts, but continuous training that provokes and supports change involves dynamics related to values and empathy. Not every trainer works for everyone!
What do you think?
If you feel that training is just a cost, you probably haven’t yet met the right trainer for you or your company… (and maybe that’s not me either).
But if you believe that training is a core value, and you’re rightly looking to make the most of all available public funding, grants, and programs that can help you invest in ever higher-quality training, making the best use of every resource you’re entitled to — contact us!
There are so many opportunities that many companies are still not taking advantage of.
Let’s explore them together.
